Peening shot (Steel Shot) is used in the shot peening process, a cold-working technique that bombards a metal surface to induce beneficial compressive stresses, significantly improving fatigue life, strength, and resistance to cracking and corrosion in components like springs, gears, and aerospace parts.

Physical Properties:
| Microstructure | Uniform martensite, tempered to a degree consistent with hardness range with fine and well-distributed carbides. Blow Hole shall be less than 5% of whole particles. Void shall be less than 5% of whole particles. Crack shall be less than 5% of whole particles. Shrinkage shall be less than 5% of whole particles. |
| Hardness | PS1 (52 ~ 56 HRC) / PS2 (54 ~ 60 HRC). Other hardnesses are available upon request. Hardness deviation is not more than +/- 3 HRC. |
| Density | The specific density of cast steel shot shall not be less than 7.00 gm/cm3. |
| Texture | Shot texture shall be tempered uniform martensite and no more than 15% pellet. |
| Quenching Process | Double Process |
