Type V (Acrylic) Plastic Media is mildly abrasive, angular, granular plastic cleaning media suitable for dry-blasting systems.
The material allows the controlled cleaning of such mediums as:
- Fiberglass
- Aircraft components (wheels, brakes, radar cone, landing gear)
- Deburring steel, aluminium and zinc parts.
- Soft metals
- Thin aluminium and composites
Industries using this medium include the automotive, electronic and industrial areas, but the main use is in the aerospace industry.

This media is even less abrasive than type II media, but has a similar low density which ensures minimal effect on the substrate and allows soft alloys, plastic composites etc., to be cleaned or stripped without the need to resort to the time-consuming and environmentally undesirable solvent or chemical cleaning.
To ensure optimum cleaning and recyclability, it is recommended the user employs low pressures – typically 15-40 psi (1-3 bar). This increased efficiency, combined with lower pressures leads to improved productivity.
