Carbon steel cut wire is very versatile and durable when compared to cast steel abrasives, due to virtual no internal flaws, porosity, shrinkage, cracks etc. Its higher density also offers a higher blast impact when compared with cast steel abrasives.

The ideal peening media should contain particles of identical size, shape, hardness and density in order to produce repeatable peening results. Carbon steel cut wire is manufactured from wire strand, cut to lengths equal to its diameter. This result in particles virtually identical in size, shape, hardness and density and thus a media ideally suited for peening purposes. It will work harden during the operation and lead to an extremely long abrasive life.

There are 4 forms of Steel Cut Wire/Conditioned depending on the different application requirements as follows:

  • As cut cylindrical (CW) or (Cylindrical with sharp edges)
  • G1 conditioned (CCW) or (Rounded Cylinders)
  • G2 double conditioned (DCCW) or (Near Spherical pellets)
  • G3 spherical conditioned (SCCW)

Grain class available:
0.3mm, 0.4mm, 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm and 1.30mm

Applications

  • Deburring and polishing non-ferrous components
  • Shot peening ferrous and non-ferrous components such as heat treatment pieces, gear etc.
  • Surface finishing critical surfaces
  • Blast cleaning of die-casting, foundry pieces, forgings, sand removal, steel board, steel material, H type steel structure
  • Cleaning magnetic parts when ferrous residues cannot be tolerated.
  • Cleaning, polishing stainless steel rods, pipes, plates and non-ferrous die-castings ( such as aluminum and magnesium), also used for
  • Rust removal of foundry pieces, forgings, steel board, steel material, steel structure, decaling of forging.
  • Shot blasting of profile steel, steel board, steel material, ship board.
  • Shot polishing of steel board, steel material, and profile steel.
  • Grit removal.
  • Pre-treatment of surface, steel structure, before-painting
